New Investors Back Hunter Holloway

Topeka, KS – July 21, 2019 – Professional rider/trainer Hunter Holloway has her eye on International competition and a shot at the World Cup like many grand prix riders, but Holloway, at 21 years old, has the attention of backers, who have been following her accomplishments and her inspiring work ethic. With two new mounts added to her string of grand prix horses, Holloway hopes to move up the ranking list.

Holloway is grateful to the group at HB Investments for her two new imports that are earning the lead in the victory gallops since coming to the states this past spring.

Pepita Con Spita  (Con Spirit x Pamina), an 8-year-old Westphalian mare, is fast and athletic, already making a trip to Spruce Meadows. Holloway and the mare are just getting to know each other, but showed their talent earning a second and a fourth in the 1.40m classes in Calgary with the legendary George H. Morris coaching.

Holloway stopped in Colorado for Summer in the Rockies on the way home from Calgary to win a 1.40m class there with the new mare and also placed secondin the 1.40m at Tryon Spring 4.

Her second new mount, Cesna M (Check In x Furiella), is a 7-year-old Warmblood gelding purchased by HB Investments as well. It didn’t take long for this talented gelding to adjust to the United States. Right out of the gate, Holloway and Cesna M won two out of three seven year old classes at Tryon Spring 6 to take home the championship. Cesna M arrived after entries closed  for the Spruce Meadows trip, but caught back up with the group in Colorado to earn another 7-year-old championship.

Holloway did plenty of research and took two shopping trips to Europe with professional Diane Carney to find the perfect additions to her string, which includes Eastern Jam and VDL Bravo S, owned by Hays Investment Corp. and Silver Creek's Validation owned by Silver Creek Farm.

Silver Creek's Validation added top placings to the Hunter Holloway Stables banner in the 1.50m at Tryon Spring and a third place finish in the FEI $36,000 Horseware Ireland 1.50 Welcome Stake. The pair collected two thirds and a fourth in the U25 at the prestigious Spruce Meadows in July. Earlier this season at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), Validation finished in second in the FEI $10,000 Hermes U25 Welcome.

In 2018, Holloway won the prestigious Aon Cup and was second in the West Canadian Cup with Eastern Jam at Spruce Meadows. The pair also won the $70,000 CSI3* Grand Prix at Tryon Spring and the FEI $10,000 Hermes U 25 Welcome during the Winter Equestrian Festival and placed second in the $25,000 Hermes U25 Grand Prix.

Holloway took the top two spots in the 2018 $130,000 International Omaha Grand Prix with Eastern Jam and VDL Bravo S respectively bringing the crowd to their feet.

VDL Bravo S chalked up top three finishes in the $35,000 Hollow Creek 1.50m Championship at WEF, the $100,000 Grand Prix of Traverse City, and the Omaha Init2Winit Speed and the $25,000 Roy Edwards Memorial Grand Prix at the American Royal.

“The future is very bright for not only Cesna and Pepita, but for our entire HB Investments team,” said Holloway. “I am very grateful for their commitment and support and so happy to have this great team. I cannot wait to see where it takes us!”

Holloway is taking a little time at home before heading to Santa Fe for FEI Splitrock week and then St.Louis in September for the Zone 7 Equitation Championship and Maclay regional finals with her riders.
