World Equestrian Center Acquires Iconic Ocala Jockey Club Property
OCALA, Fla. – World Equestrian Center (WEC) announced that it has acquired the iconic Ocala Jockey Club. The nearly 1,000-acre facility has a rich history in hosting top equestrian events and in hospitality with an event space that offers unparalleled views of the rolling hills and incomparable Ocala sunsets. Moving forward, the facility will be known as The World Equestrian Jockey Club.
The Ocala Jockey Club has been host to a favorite stop on the United States’ eventing calendar with the annual international Ocala Jockey Club CCI4*L 3-Day Event. Plans are underway now to continue this tradition of top sport by transitioning the facility to the future site of World Equestrian Center eventing cross-country competition.
Quality renovations are being planned to ready the facility for hosting weddings, equestrian and special events under the World Equestrian Center brand of hospitality management. These planned renovations coupled with the World Equestrian Center culture and values will ensure that the new World Equestrian Jockey Club becomes a world-class facility that upholds the highest standards as experienced by our exhibitors and guests.
“The Ocala Jockey Club brought a combination of training, competition and elegant hospitality in the venue that is in line with our World Equestrian Center vision,” said Roby Roberts. “Through this acquisition, we aim to continue those traditions of great sport and grand entertaining, while investing in the future of equestrian sports in Ocala.”
